Background

The Legionella count of a cooling tower system in a shopping mall exceeded the specified limit occasionally with regular chemical dosing applied.

As AquaKLEAR kills bacterial and offers energy saving capability to a water cooled system, mamangement decided to install it without any change to the operation procedure and chemicals used.

Result

The bacterial growth was significantly reduced once AquaKLEAR was installed. After several months of system operation. A water sample showed the Legionella count exceeds 4000CFU/mil.

This should not be happened and we were called to investigate the problem. It was found that the armoured cable which supplies power to our system was not connected to the MCB Board after the renovation of the control room two months ago before the eruption of bacterial growth..

After reconnecting the armoured cable to the MCB Board, the water quality is kept exceptionally good and bacteria count is far below the limit now.
